About the PTA - Introduction
Who is a member of the PTA?
Every parent, guardian, teacher or carer of a child at Owlsmoor Primary School is automatically a member of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA).
Why we are here
The PTA is here for you - the parents, guardians and teachers of all the children who attend Owlsmoor Primary School. Our main aim is to raise funds to purchase items that would otherwise fall outside the school's budget such as the markings on the centre playground and the Hampton Court Garden which is on display in the Playground next to the Reception classrooms. We also provide an informal social network for parents.
How does it work?
The PTA is currently run by a core of volunteers who regularly attend the PTA meetings and help to organise events such as the School Discos, Coffee Events and Fetes and Bazaars. We have officers of the PTA, however everyone is free to contribute as little or as much as they like as infrequently or as often as they like.
PTA Meetings
Meetings are held each half term, usually in the Studio on a week day evening. Everyone is invited to come along to any of the meetings whether it's simply to listen to what's going on, express an opinion, make a suggestion, volunteer to help or become a member of the committee. We also have working groups consisting of volunteers who co-ordinate the fundraising activities.
Volunteering
If you feel you would like to get involved either by helping at an event, giving us a great idea or you have a skill that you think we could use, making cakes, graphic design, web site design, marketing or PR experience to name but a few then please get in touch. We are always happy to welcome new volunteers and appreciate all the help that we get. Take a look at our 'How to Help' page on this website to see other ways you can help us out.
